This printer works good. It got all the features that I want:printer, fax, copier, and scanner.I really like the fax function.

The printing quality is also good. If you choose to use only the black cartridge, it prints fast.

I have to admit that, at least according to the software, the printer eats a lot of ink. But since I use the printer only as a substitution for college printers, it’s fine with me.

Just one thing: it’s really noisy compared to the HP my roomate is using. Even it finishes printing, it keeps making noises for a while, which can be annoying.

Also you have to buy the USB cable. It doesn’t come along.

I’ve only had this all-in-one for a little over a month, so I can’t attest to its reliability. So far, though, I’m very impressed with it. I frequently print and scan and have made several copies (no faxing yet), and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by its speed, especially when scanning. The printing quality is pretty typical (i.e., adequate) for low-end printers, but it gets the job done. I’m currently applying for academic jobs, and I’m satisfied with the quality of printed work. I run through the ink more quickly than I had expected or hoped; luckily, the ink cartridges are pretty reasonably priced. It’s also pretty compact, attractive, and, for some odd reason, infinitely attractive to my cats, who love to lie on top of it. :) Given its low price, I am hugely pleased with this product.

I purchased this printer to replace the one that “saves you on ink”. This printer is GREAT! I have a small business, which is it’s primary use, and the quality is great! It was easy to get “up and running”, the only problem is that it is pretty noisy. I am printing color graphics from this printer and the it doesn’t seem to use any more color ink than the “other” printer that I replaced. I thought by the other reviews that I might have a problem with ink usage, especially with what I print, but I haven’t. I was even impressed by the small little “perks” with this printer, like the fact that when the “lid” is lifted it doesn’t just “drop” down, it “lowers” back to it’s down position slowly. This is a great printer for a the price!

When I bought this I had read that it was impossible to network without an expensive piece of extra equipment. I have to tell you, I got it hooked up to my network in about 10 minutes. It took longer to install the software on all of the computers than it did to network this printer. As far as cost of ink goes, we print all the time, and then refill. We have had no problems with this printer. I didn’t give it ia 5 stars because it is a bit loud, but it also has the ability, in the software, to make it quieter. The hard part was networking my Vista computer to see the XP network, and getting the vista to print to the network printer, this canon. But I got it. This printer is worth the price, and is a good medium priced printer.

After reading a lot of the reviews for this machine, I decided to purchase it. We wanted a fax machine with a sheet feeder and flatbed scanner capability, but the only ones available with these features are an all-in-one fax. At this price point, I feel like it is a good value. Yes, it does eat up a lot of ink, but I guess Canon has to make money somehow. I consider myself pretty computer savvy, but I still cannot manage to figure out how to make it print a report after each fax. The one big negative, is that for some reason, the fax does not pick up on “telelphone priority mode.” It became infuriating when it wouldn’t pick up after the 3rd try. It finally picked up when I put it on “fax priority.” Since we know when we are receiving faxes, it is not a problem to switch it to fax priority mode, but I wish the “telephone priority” mode would work, as it states in the manual. I am pleased with the print quality. Overall, I would recommend it for the home user with occasional fax needs.

Shipped quickly and received on estimated delivery date. Easy setup with software disk enclosed on VISTA software laptop, also comes with both color and black ink (some brands do not have black ink so must order). Placed in daughter’s college dorm, has a somewhat large footprint for dorm room desk, but works well. If you get for student also get an extra black ink and don’t forget a ream of paper. For daughter only drawback is that must open front printer door to get printed output which takes up a little more desk area.

Item was received on time and in good condition.

It is a little larger in size than expected, but it is modern, easy to use and has many different functions.

Good quality. Replacing ink will not be the cheapest, but also not the most expensive.

(Just a note that this works in the americas with 120 v only, if you plan to travel with this item you will beed to get a transformer and a converter)

This is by far the worst printer that I have ever owned. I bought in April 2009 & last week it quit working. It won’t even power on, I was hesitant to contact customer service because of the rudeness that I had to deal with the last time I contacted them. I contacted them in May to try to get find out about Linux drivers for my dual boot computer (Linux/Windows), I was told that since I live in the US I should only use Windows or Mac. I should have returned right then but I found a driver that would get to work, so I kept it. This time they were much politer, but still just as useless. I was told unplug wait 10-20 seconds & plug it back in. If that didn’t work, try doing it again. They told me that since it was less than a year old, they could send me a refurbished one. Refurbished?? Ok, so if a new lasts less than 6 months, how long would a refurbished one last? 3 months? No thanks, I’m going back to HP. They build printers that last & have Linux drivers.

It’s a great printer for $79. I replaced an older Canon. I would like to make you aware that if your volume of color printing is medium to high you could spend five times as much on cartridges as you did on the printer, per year. All the printer manufacturers give you the printer so that you will buy ink cartridges. If you don’t want to be a slave to the printer manufacturers REFILL YOUR CARTRIDGES. YOU WILL SAVE A FORTUNE. Even a moderately mechanically inclined individual can do it. There are a half a dozen web sites that will step you through.

User friendly AND Great Photo Quality!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We bought this because our HP Photosmart printer died (after 5 years). I just recently opened a home day care, so I needed somethingthat would make copies. Also, my main hobby is scrapbooking, so I needed something that would print good pictures. I felt like I was going to have to choose between a functional office printer and a photo printer, so I chose funtional office printer, and I just got lucky! Not only is this very user-friendly, (it makes great color and black-and-white copies at the push of a button), but it also prints excellent pictures. This does it all for under $100! Nothing more I could ask for in the product. I highly recomend it.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
First of all let me compliment Amazon for their efficiency in getting the printer delivered so quickly. I was a little reluctant to purchase a printer via the internet. But I was really surprise with the ease of setup, and the quality of this printer. It is perfect for a home office or for everyday printing. Since I received the printer everyone has been asking me to print something for them and I was really impressed when one of my friends asked me to print some invitations for her dad’s 90th birthday. Let me tell you… the quality of the printing on the invitations looked like if they were done by one of those expensive printers. The invitations said “for best quality use a laser” I have to disagree with them because this inkjet rocks. And it printed 200 invitations within minutes. I would definitely recommend this all-in-one printer.

    Canon hits a home run

This review is actually on the Canon MX320. It is the MX330’s little brother. Both printers are identical except the MX320 does not have the color lcd screen, it has a 2-line dot matrix screen. Since I do all of my editing on my computer, and can’t see much on the little screen anyway, I chose to save about $40. Either printer offers great value in my humble opinion.

    PROS:

    1. Photo quality equal to my Canon MX830. I don’t know why or how but the prints look the same. Even better if you use Canon’s “VIVID” setting in the Easy Photo Print software under paper selector.

    2. The scanner reproduces colors and details that are very close to original and you have the option to touch up photos after scanning. Using the ADF you can copy legal size papers.

    3. The fax options are not perfect but they work. This is the first all-in-one that I’ve owned that I can actually leave the fax running in the back round without it interfering with phone calls on the same line. Using the TEL Preferred setting the fax will start automatically if you answer the phone and it is a fax. This even works from a remote phone by dialing 25 if you hear the fax noise when you answer. Up to 50 (20 pages of documents) faxes will be stored in memory if you run out of paper or ink.

    4. My favorite option on this printer is the fact that you can choose which cartridge to print from. This will save a lot of the more expensive color ink, especially from advertisements faxed to you. Simply follow these steps to print from black only:

    a. Click on the MY PRINTER icon the software installed on your desktop

    b. Click on the PRINTER SETTINGS tab

    c. Click on the MAINTENANCE tab

    d. Click on the INK CARTRIDGE SETTINGS tab

    e. Choose from using BLACK ONLY cartridge, COLOR ONLY cartridge, or BOTH cartridges

The black only setting only works with plain paper and envelopes so photos will still print in color. Plus it takes only seconds to change settings if you need color in your text documents. This setting works great if you have teenagers that print everything they see.

    5. You can fax straight from your computer without first printing the fax. Just click on PRINT and choose Canon MX330 Fax as your printer. The fax works just like you ran it through the printer, including printing a receipt if you have set this up on the printer.

    6. At about $.05 per black and white page printed, using the XL ink cartridges, and the ability to print photos that will last up to 300 years I feel the print costs are reasonable.

    7. I bought the MX320 after trying the Epson NX300. There is no comparison between the 2 printers. The Canon exceeded my expectations in every category. At $69 the MX320 (MX330) is an all-in-one printer that works perfectly for a small home business on a tight budget.

    CONS:

    1. The lcd screen on the MX320 is hard to read sometimes because there is no backlight. Luckily you only have to use it to set up the printer and fax one time.

    2. There is only 1 paper tray.

    CONCLUSION:

Every printer requires a compromise in some area. Users of the HP printers I was interested in are reporting problems with Windows Vista, which I confirmed on HP’s own site. The Epson model I tried was noisy, slow, and draft text was barely readable. Not to mention I went through 2 Epson’s because of print head clogging problems. Brother and Kodak printers are unknown entities to me, although I bought one of the first Kodak printers when they came out and returned it the same day.

I have had good luck with other Canon printers and I like their print quality. The MX320/330 seem to be following in the Canon tradition of good quality printers. Unlike many others, I chose a 2 cartridge print system on purpose. My Canon MX830 was an excellent printer but if you change inks one at a time to save ink it seems like you are changing inks 2 times a week. For the money I don’t think you can beat the MX320/330 for an all-in-one printer with a G3 fax. If fax capabilities are not needed I would buy the Canon MP480 or MP620 as these are both excellent all-in-ones without the fax at reasonable prices.

I now own two different editions of the Canon Pixma, and despite the ink-consumption issues, I love these printers. I strayed briefly, buying an HP all-in-one, and it was awful–noisy, always jamming, a miserable experience. I finally took it to Goodwill (after owning it less than 6 months). Won’t do that again!

This is the most obnoxious printer I have ever encountered. IT constantly beeps at me that it is jammed when it is not. It spits out blank sheets of paper after blank sheets of paper before it will print and is ALWAYS saying it is jammed when in fact it is not. Save your sanity and purchase something else!

This is a great printer. Setup on OSX 10.6 was dead simple. I didn’t install anything, just plugged it into the USB port and scanning and printing worked perfectly. Scanning and copying is great quality. Printing both black and white on plain paper is also good. I’ve also printed photos on Canon’s glossy photo paper and they turned out great. The only thing I wish it had built in was a ethernet port so I can print /and/ scan over the network.

Just bought one based on the reviews provided here. Have not used it yet.It is extremely ridiculous that the USB cable is not included in the package (Nowhere can I see the indication that the USB cable is not inculded in the printer.), while the telephone line is included in the package. Is this a fax machine or a printer? The USB cable usually comes with the printer when I use other brand printers, such as Lexmark. I Will never buy canon printer in the future!!!!!

    Canon Pixma MX330.

I purchased my Canon All-In-One to replace an HP All-In-One. It prints a higher quality document, scans true colors , and faxes easily. In addition to the higher quality output I receive, the ink cartridges are much cheaper. I can ink my printer with both cartridges for about $38, and before one cartridge cost from $30 to $40 each. I have a small Canon printer for my laptop and was so satisfied I was anxious to try a larger printer for more functions. I was not disappointed.

Very nice machine, excellent printer, great scanner, fast print speed, decent software. Why buy a cheap Lexmark when for practically the same money you can get a Canon all in one? This is my second Canon; tried other printers in between and nothing else I tried lasted long or was as solid as a Canon. The first Canon’s death was my fault by the way. If you don’t use any printer for weeks or months at a time the print heads gum up past the point of no return.

    Great all in one printer/fax/scanner
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I didn’t give it five stars because the user manual was online and difficult to navigate. The papers need to be placed face up to scan and fax and it’s a little different from most. BUT….once you get the hang of it…it’s a great little printer, easy to load paper.

    Toner issue
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
While I really like this printer I was really upset when it locked up after printing page 1 of a 3 page document. The printer would not print pages 2-3 until I changed the toner cartridge although the page just printed was absolutely perfect and no worse than pages 2-3 which printed after I changed the toner cartridge. When I called Canon’s tech support I was told that nothing within the printer could be adjusted because “that is the way it was engineered”. It appears that this is one more way to insure the sale of more toner cartridges.

Avoid Canon Printers – Poor Quality & Customer Service.
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased a MP350 printer about one and a half years ago. I rarely used the product (printed under 50 pages). I received the error message `6B00′ and called tech support. After waiting on hold for a considerable amount of time, I was told the error required service, but that the service cost would likely exceed the cost of the printer. The service centre was also well outside of the city (and I am in a major metro area). Given I was outside of the warranty period, it would not be covered (despite it being a defect given the very low use). I followed up with a Manager (Ravi Pawa) who informed me they would not do anything other then offer a 20% discount on their site (which is more expensive vs. the big box stores so it means little and I am now sticking to other brands).

I recommend consumers avoid Canon printers and stick with companies that choose to stand behind their products when it is clearly a defect on their end (even if it is just outside the warranty period).

First I thought, how great, a readable manual. That means the average person could read it, but do not include right-brainers like me. Yes, I did work my way through getting the printer out of the box and plugged into the wall, but later on, I needed some help in finishing up the print connection process. Called their Customer Service at 6 P.M. A recording asked for my phone number and 9 minutes later they called me back. The rep was knowledgeable, polite, and insisted on hanging with me until I got a page printed and was happy with it. Told me not to hesitate to call them back. I asked when they closed up. The answer was “…10 PM tonight.” Life can be beautiful. Since then, I’ve not had the time to run the printer through all its paces, but I will and without that knot in my stomach that occurs when I have to call, shall we say, Hewlett Packard. So far, I like the printer. Good price too.

Purchased Canon MX330 after the price drop. Original shipment disappeared: Amazon replaced it within 3 days. All things considered it was great service.

MX330 performs as advertised. Fax over POTS worked as well as any fax. I have used mostly the scanner and printer. ADF works well. Scanning documents straight to PDF is a great feature. The software is not all that intuitive but is easily learned. The MX330 printed text well and printed crisp photos on photo paper: flaws and all. Durability is still a question but, so far so good.

Took one star because it is a monster, however, all the functions of this multi-function work well. Haven’t had to change inks yet but they are expensive.

Even so, at this point I would recommend for someone looking for an inexpensive all-in-one.

I love this machine its simply the best all-in-one printer I’ve owned.

Its light years ahead of the Lexmark printers I’ve had before.

Everything about it is just top notch, especially the software.

It is kinda bulky and heavy but that doesn’t bother me much.

Overall i highly recommend this printer.
