Great find
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I found this on sale at a local store for $89.99 and had to have it to replace my 7310 I had for over 5 years. While this doesn’t seem as sturdy as the 7310 it really is. I like that this unit is smaller than the 7310 (which I paid $399.99 for). The only feature missing is the duplexer which I rarely used anyhow. Great for a home office but shop around the price Amazon has is high since this unit can be found locally much cheaper.

HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer
I have used it very little since purchase. However, I selected it because another 6310 in our retiremenmt community served multiple unskilled users daily without a problem. In effect, it was “bullet proof”

Lots of Problems
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
1. Very sensitive about the paper feed. I was constantly readjusting the paper in the feed to make sure it went through…usually fed a few pages at a time. 2. Communication problems with my PC.
3. Lots of paper jams.
4. One day, a little tiny sprocket thing fell off onto the paper I was printing. I have no idea where it came from, but the printer now only prints one page correctly and then the rest of the pages are screwed up.

After two weeks of waiting I was informed that I would not be getting this product.
I think I got a refund. Not sure though.

Great product. It was purchased used but the seller included everything I would have received purchasing it new which I didn’t really expect.
Product itself works well. I bought it because my wife has one also. It works well and I am pleased with both the printer and the seller. Good buy!!

This all-in-one is a replacement for one that i had for three years. It does just what I expect and the price is very good. The only other consideration is that this model is not wireless which would be convenient.

Wonderful as a printer/fax, …..
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
hp Officejet 6310xi. This is our third hp printer. Our first, a 550c was still working for the person we gave it to a year ago. We purchased the 6310 because it was an all in one, and took up less space than a printer and scanner. Should have kept the scanner. This will copy and print from the scan stage, but will not scan and print from the scan stage. When it was scanning properly, made wonderful copies of photos. What to buy next??

Don’t buy it

This printer’s software and user interface are terrible. Trying to do a simple thing like scan a black & white document takes a huge amount of time. Printing from the network via Windows Vista is a nightmare.
The amount of software installed is absolutely huge – do you want 8 programs to manage 1 printerfaxscanner? That’s what you get – including some lame photo software too. It takes over your computer.
Would never recommend this. I’ll be buying a different printer since it’s too late to return this one and I don’t have the time to spend trying to use it for simple tasks. The only thing that’s reasonably easy is printing (but not from the network and not from Windows Vista!).

No one should own this printer
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Under no circumstances, based on this experience, will I ever buy another single piece of equipment from HP again. The fax machine sends, but I have yet been unable to receive a single fax from anyone outside of HP’s help desk. This is after hours and hours of troubleshooting. The installation software was a disaster, the scanner functionality is totally questionable and the printer cartridges run out far too quickly. The printing functions were working fine, until I moved to a Mac, and now the printer driver–and this is the driver for Mac–is not compatible with OS. I’ve read that this will change if I upgrade to Snow Leopard, but I’m already thinking of giving this useless hunk of plastic away and getting a Canon or a Mac printer. I remember when HP put out good equipment. Sadly, those days are behind us.

It works for 3 years without any problem, but once it has problem that is the end of it’s life. I do not know if it only happens to hp(s) or other printers too. My two hp all in one printers just died after 3 years.

Great product at a decent price
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This model replaces an identical model that we just plain wore out. We use the 6310 all day long for everything possible and are very pleased with this product. Hopefully HP keeps making this for some time as we have had such good performance from it that we plan to keep replacing them as we wear them out.

DON’T BUY IT! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Shortly after the warranty expired the printer quit working. It showed error message about “paper jam” and there was not a paper jam. I contacted HP on the phone twice and once online. It would not reset and HP would not replace it. There is no fix for this problem. I found customer service at HP to be the worse I have ever dealt with. They would only offer a refurb at a price which was higher than I could buy a new one at most stores. This will be the last HP product for me. I also had a HP CD writer that did not work. I hate HP products! I replaced the HP printer with a Canon MP530 for half the price of the HP and it works perfectly.

Great while it lasted. Didn’t last long.
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This is, in theory, a great printer. Yes, the software load is ridiculously long, large and overburdened with pointless garbage (same with all other printers these days). Yes, color quality is nothing super, but more than adequate. Speed could certainly be faster, and many other things would be nice. But for basic non-professional color and B&W printing, especially for home use with multiple systems, it’s a good printer. The control panel is easy to use, and once the software is on your PCs, you can select (from the printer) which PC to scan to, and what to do with the results. Network setup just works, and TCP/IP connectivity is good. Print carts aren’t horribly expensive and seem to last long enough.
And now the bad: just over a year in, the scanner is producing a solid black stripe about 0.75 inches wide down the length of any scans. This has rendered my all-in-one unit completely worthless to me, since I now have to buy an entirely new AIO to replace just the broken scanner. HP has not made a great product since the LaserJet II or III, and they continue that legacy of crap hardware here.
Sadly, all AIO printer/fax/copy machines (same with TV/DVD Toaster/Microwave, etc) that are priced at an affordable rate will also have these kinds of problems; that’s the peril of combining three or four products in one box: you get a Frankenstein beast that does each job “sorta well” and nothing great.
Nonetheless, HP has a personal track record with me of making absolute junk, so I’m done giving them money. Time to throw my hard-earned bucks away on another brand of junk. Maybe Brother, or Canon.

LOVE IT!!

My company gave me one of these printers for my “at home” printing work. I loved it so much I purchased one for my personal use. I have 2 of these printers and I think they are great!!! No problems at all with either one. The work one I have had for 2 years or more and it still is running fine. Best of all I think it only cost me about $60, on sale!!

Utter Garbage
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’ve owned this printer for three months. At first, I thought it was an a decent all-in-one printer for a home office. It has readers for many forms of external memory that have proved very useful in transferring content to and from my PC. However, after replacing the black ink cartridge less than one month ago, I received an error message “Cartridge on right must be replaced.” After researching this error at various sites, I have learned that HP attempts to determine if a cartridge has been re-inked, meaning it was refilled by the owner of the printer. HP then essentially makes the printer completely inoperable, including all features, even those that do not require ink.
This printer is priced low for the sole purpose of selling ink and driving up HP’s profit margins.
HP anticipates that, if you buy this product, you will need to re-ink constantly, thereby driving up their profits. They will sabotage the machine on you if you don’t play by their rules.
I’m now in a position where I need to buy another ink cartridge or replace the computer altogether.
Hewlett Packard is a disaster to the global environment. Think about the environmental impact of a marketing and sales strategy built around manufacturing equipment designed to become inoperable to the point people replace it frequently. What a disgrace!
Utterly terrible product. I will not purchase another HP printer again.

Very Disappointing
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I am totally miserable with this printer that I have purchased. It took me one hour to install on my PC. Then I tried to install it on my laptop since I work at home sometimes. First of all I tried for an hour one night, put it away and tried for another hour. Finally I decided to call HP. After holding for 45 minutes I finally got a tech not only in India but admitted he was new but assured me he could fix the problem. To make a long frustrating story short, after 4.5 hours or begging him to get a supervisor, he finally decided he better before I had a heartattack on the phone. I waited 15 minutes for the supervisor = it only took him 1/2 hour to resolve the problem. I am afraid to try and install it on my daughter’s laptop!!!
He told me he would call me the next evening and offer me some monetary compensation for all of my trouble and aggravation. It has now been over 10 days and he never called. I was away the week following (last week) but there was no message on the answering machine.
I also do not like the way it copys in black – blurry, can’t figure out how to reduce or enlarge and the colors are very blurry. Obviously, I will be contacting Amazon.com to return this. Not only did it cost me $141 but the next day it went down to $131 and I was told I could not get any refund. Well, now you can take the whole thing back.

Easy 5 Star Review on this one – fantastic printer!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Replaced my Epson photo printer and Lexmark scanner with this all-in-one for less than the price of my Epson ink!
Several great features:
Ink: It’s almost like it doesn’t use ink. I never realized what an ink hog my Epson was until I went HP.
Price: Ridiculously low.
Scanner: I scan quite a lot. The flat bed or multipage feeder work great to easily create multipage PDFs, TIFs, others.
Software: Very user friendly and easy to configure default settings to to easily and continuously scan documents to an archive, which is what I do to stay mostly paperless in my office.
Draft printing: I use fast draft printing a lot to save ink when printing notes for myself that will be discarded later. This draft option is faster and more legible than other printers.
Overall, I don’t see straying from HP in the future for printers.

0fficejet 6310 beware
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
If you’re thinking about buying -beware if you’re running Vista. The scanning function does not work with Vista and HP doesn’t have a clue how to fix the problem if they even care. Also, don’t let HP Tech dept work on your computer-they’re incompetent. Look elsewhere for an AIO perhaps the 6500 or another brand.

Ok printer, but not all functions work with Vista
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
You can not use the scan function with Vista. You have to open Paint software and scan from within it. Very time consuming and had I known I would not have purchased this printer. I am using a HP Computer and this is a HP printer. You would think they would be compatible. Shame on HP for putting out an inferior printer. I expect more from them.

Copies-prints-faxes-scans and gets it right
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We replaced our old HP Officejet 6310 with a new one (the old lived a long and useful life; it was time), and we did it with Amazon because, as usual, the price was very right. Considering all its responsibilities, this printer takes up little space, and gets the job(s) done – simply enough for two folks who are not terribly adept at technology. Its only flaw – printing is somewhat slow. Other than that, we give it an A+ for quality, durability, and ease of use.

HP 6310 all in one..a good value
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is my third HP Three in one for my home office in 6 years . I predict about a 2 year life with daily small office tasks . The quality of print is very good, the scanning feature is handy but rather slow. Faxing speed is OK for an occasional fax. With technology changing so fast, it is best to consider this type of machine as disposable . Spending three times as much may procure a longer lasting machine but the technology would be outdated before the machine expired.

I have had HPs forever but this one is not good. It says it works with MACS but it won’t do 2 sided printing nor will it FAX. Yes I have tried everything. I can’t find any record of my purchase tho it was only a few months ago and I got it here so I guess I am screwed. I don’t know if I would get another HP after this for my MAC – too bad.

This HP printer does everything that I need it to do to run a small home-based business, and it does it at a fraction of the price I could have spent to get the same features. Highly recommended!

In hindsight….
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Perhaps I should have purchased the printer BEFORE I bought all of that paper… lesson learned… Now I can actually USE the paper for something other than paper airplanes, crayon coloring, and wallpaper.
In any event, this printer/scanner/copier/fax machine/photo printer/trans-dimensional teleportation device is merely “fair”, hence the three stars. I was disappointed that it didn’t have wheels or a motor engine. That would have been cool.
Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out all of its uses. For instance, apparently you need to have a working phone line in order to use the fax machine. The printer works – I mean, it puts ink to paper. I’m pretty sure that the words it prints are the words I’ve written.
A word of warning: If you are a “plus” sized individual, do not try to make “personal” copies of your hindquarters. Yeah, I thought it could hold my girth, but I write this as I’m picking splinters of glass out of my bottom. It’s uncomfortable by the way – I have to fully twist around holding a mirror with tweezers – I didn’t realize how hairy my rear is. Wow.
I was trying to track the expansion of my bottom (see my Snickers review) chronologically, but after this failure I’ll just have to continue using the office copier.
And get this: HP DOES NOT OFFER REFUNDS IF YOU’VE INNOCENTLY DAMAGED THEIR PRODUCTS. Yeah, I know! I was shocked myself – literally because the printer was still plugged in.

Not compatible with Windows Vista
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
My XP computer died and I got a new computer with Vista. The scan function doesn’t interface with Vista and no Vista driver is available. Since I wanted to scan, I will now have to replace this machine. I found it an acceptable printer. Print quality is ok not outstanding. The paper tray is small, about 30 pages. I had hoped for more from an HP product.

This was the last HP product I’ll buy.
I bought it with the intent of getting a decent product at a reasonable price. I got the latter but certainly not the former! What a piece of junk!!
Generally speaking, you do get what you pay for. So, I’m going to buy something a bit more expensive, but not an HP product. Incidentally, the is my third and last bad experience with HP.
Happy shopping!

HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer
Printer is easy to install. Print color excellent, scanner works well. Installing adds printer as a storage device to bios and when your computer boots up it can’t find the main boot up drive. You have to either be sure the printer is off when you boot up or change your bios back to its original configuration.

The item was delivered on time and in good condition. While HP products are very good, the company continues the practice of embedding marketing programs in the installation software. This is annoying.
